Our approach to sustainability
Sustainability is integrated into every aspect of our company. At Peak, we strive to hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards. It is critical that we act with honesty and integrity in all our dealings with partners, customers, shareholders and employees.
We are developing the Ngualla Project and Teeside Refinery to become a long-term, environmentally and socially sustainable supplier of choice to the global rare earth market. Our objective is to provide end users the opportunity to source responsibly mined, refined, and processed rare earth products.
We offer a truly transparent and fully traceable supply chain solution to the burgeoning low carbon technology space. Our ethics and standards in this regard, together with those of our key partners, match the needs of modern global industry to have a responsible source of materials throughout their product supply chains. We aim to make a green and sustainable approach to production a fundamental part of our business strategy and a point of differentiation for our products compared with some other sources of rare earths. We maintain the highest standards of environmental, health, safety and social behaviour and aim to ensure that the development of our Ngualla and Teeside projects benefit the communities in which we operate.
The high-grade bastnaesite-hosted orebody at Ngualla has very low levels of acid consuming elements, uranium and thorium. This supports a low-cost structure and superior environmental outcomes compared to many competing development projects. The Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) Update is expected to be completed in early 2022 which will be followed by Front End Engineering Design activities.
We have an exemplary safety record with no Lost Time Injuries (LTIs) recorded over the past three years and a consistent focus on the promotion of a communicative safety culture.
